Every day on the Camino is different and what ever the journey you go through on the day ,hard or easy ... whether you are feeling up or down ...when you make it to your destination for the day it is good!
Some days a perfect gift ..and so it was today . We had been feeling the affects of the 250 km on our bodies with another couple of blisters appearing in places not seen before ,so we were able to schedule a shorter day of 14.5km and sleep in a little before breakfast and leaving, even scored a poached egg for a change.☺
With most pilgrims up and off early it was nice to have the path to ourselves...a relatively quiet walk in perfect weather with the sky punctuated by the some fluffy clouds... temp was a pleasant 8-22 deg C and paths conditions generally great .The landscape was beautiful with lots of well kept villages hidden in the rolling landscape . .. revealing their secrets at the last minute ,mesmerising . We crossed paths with some old pilgrim acquaintances off similar pace and made some new ones ... four Aussie mates originally from Queensland .One now living in Madrid . It was great to chat to someone in Australian, apart from revealing the unfortunate result of state of origin Two.
So we were able to saunter along , take our time at food stops and rest in the Sun .. lots of pics and a beautiful location. to arrive at ,Villa franca Montes de Oca .
Two more day and forty km's and we have a day off in beautiful Burgos ,looking forward to seeing the amazing Cathedral and sights....and building up reserves to tackle 150km Meseta !!
