Day 13 - So good so far..lets relax

As previously mentioned after a full week of walking and some niggling blisters we thought we would use one of our reserve day to get recharged so we booked into a Parador hotel , part of a chain of amazingly restored old buildings , ours was a 16 th century convent and it was the stepping bad in time ... we certainty have enjoyed our time here .
We enjoyed a sleep in and a light breakfast then had some chores to do before sight seeing . After a clean out of our packs we attempted to post a pack to Santiago to lighten the load but after some language issues we finally understood that the P.O would not hold them for the period we required so it was off to an Albergue offering box for some and back in our packs for others ... oh well we trust God has a plan for it.
The major attraction was the Cathedral with its impressive architecture , sculpture and artwork ... and the obligatory fable / miracle of the Hen and the Rooster .,. see attached pic . It is overwhelming to be surrounded by such history and very easy to imagine being back in the day.
The weather had been a little Colder and overcast . great for walking not so for lazily walking along a promenade ... so it was on with warmer gear as we had lunch with the locals and back to our hotel for some R&R ...we feel ready for the next 70+ kms to Burgos, the home of another amazing cathedral and the doorstep to the Meseta.
