Day 40 - Anita's animal farmyard walk

Another beautiful walk along Galacian woodland paths climbing above the clouds and mist to more jaw dropping views but first as always you have to earn this glorious spectacular first with a strenuous climb but its all worthwhile as we were surrounded by Islands in the mist.
Today , apart from the beauty of Galacia we seem to encounter the full quota of old MacDonald's farmyard animals which Anita particularly enjoyed. There were encounters with spirited roosters pestering those poor hens, not help by Anita crowing at him, a mother hen herding her little chicks back into the barn away from Anita's beckoning calls , playful sheep dogs chasing each other in the high meadows, potty calves? waiting beside the Camino path for a pic and a hello from the Pilgrims passing and the stare down between Anita and a large bovine .  what a sight . I scored it a draw☺
It was pure joy to be enveloped in the silence and the mist as we strolled in the woodland settings..this became less so as we broke out of the woods and with Sarria in sight the path seem to start to fill. Sarria, as indicated previously is the start point for a large number of new pilgrims seeking a Compostela for walking the minimum of 100 km to Santiago. They seem to just have day packs and come in large groups... sounding like a herd of charging Pamplona bulls with their sticks clattering and loud chatter..we want yell out.."be quiet !!" or " we are the real pilgrims...walking the full way with our full pack!"....but each must walk and respect each other Camino ...so head down and off to Portomarin for a rest day. Seems we will remain ahead of our schedule despite trying to reduce km's so some reorganisation of plans for Santiago and Finisterre ...which is good..more time to soak in Santiago and what the Camino has meant before we head back to what they say is the real Camino...the rest of our lives.
Still hasn't sunk in that we have just over 100km to go..now seems like a stroll in the park...what a change.
Buen Camino
