After the exhausting previous day we slept well and after a light breakfast we joined the parade of Pilgrims for the special climb to O'Cebreiro ... another one of those Camino highlights everyone wants to enjoy so ,unlike the previous day where we walked alone, today there was a stream of pilgrims ... even one with a wheelbarrow full of his Camino gear. ( see pic).
We had seen sign's promoting a horse riding option to O'cebreiro .. one that later would look very attractive .
The weather again was perfect ... the warnings of the guidebooks never materialised and we enjoy uninterrupted 360 deg views from the mountains. As we began our climb along the road we were confronted by the challenge scrawled on its surface ... "it's business time "and yes we were confronted by a climb higher than the previous day but over a longer distance and the landscape that enveloped us was distracting . The climb was interrupted . by running repairs by Anita to her blisters ... a good practice to do if there is an issue.
Finely we made it to the Celtic influenced O'cebreiro with its rock & thatched roof architecture but alas , due to its huge popularity with tourist and it being a weekend we could not secure accommodation so after some refreshments and pics we headed off.. . . retracing our steps from the road to pick up the Camino path as it went past the Municipal Alburgue . BTW, I couldn't help but smile when looking at some genuine O'Cebreiro souvenirs ... there was a relevantly branded Boomerang☺
So on we wound our way along the mountain top to our next stop at Alto Polo but as usual the Camino keeps you working for it....the distances seem longer than the Apps predicted and there were descents always followed by a climb...late in the day the landscape does not distract..its just tiredness and the desire for a shower and rest...the Camino held out one last enticement as we dragged ourselves up a very steep last climb there, like a mirage, were seats and umbrellas promising the enticement of a well deserved cold drink. We made it (as usual) and rested and fed enjoyed the cool breeze of the Galatian mountains.

Ps: included a pic of our mountain evening menu..not sure of the bacon and eggs but all tasted great
Pps: adjusted for incline that would have been around 60km over two days...I promised Anita it was going to get easier but oh what another wonderful two days it has been.
Ppps: I made a mental note again ,as motorbikes roared up the twisty tarmac out the front of our pub accommodation) ,of the great motorbike roads that run along the Camino...this a definite must do next trip...800km in 4 days though.☺
